NAIRP is a web-based platform under development by the Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, IIT Kharagpur. The project started as a sub-project of National Digital Library of India (NDLI), a project sponsored by MHRD, Govt. of India. Subsequently it is sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Inc. The high level objectives of NAIRP are to • provide a platform for making resources related to the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) available for search and browse • provide its users a platform to learn, practice and be able to evaluate themselves about their learning related to different subjects and topics of AI and ML To fulfil these objectives, the following features are being developed in the platform. a) Search & Browse in NAIRP: The resource types of NAIRP will include, but will not be limited to, books, papers, articles, thesis, courses, course offerings, lectures, datasets, software, worksheets, platforms, all related to the domain of AI and ML. Resources from National Digital Library of India (NDLI), external websites such as AWS, GitHub, NPTEL, Kaggle, Wikipedia, YouTube etc. and many others, participating institutes and organisations, will be available at the disposal of user for domain-aware search. The domain-awareness of the search will be supported by a manually curated ontology covering the different application areas, thematic areas and fundamental areas in the field of AI and ML. The platform will also provide an intelligent mechanism of browsing-by-relevance over the resources. b) Learn in NAIRP: NAIRP will provide a course delivery platform to deliver pre-recorded courses on different topics of AI and ML. The video-lecture based online courses will be designed and developed by experts in these fields. Any user of NAIRP will be able to freely subscribe to and take these courses. The courses will accompany integrated non-programming and programming exercises, and methods of automatic evaluations of them. c) Compute in NAIRP: The system will provide integrated cloud-based computation platform to enable its user with easy access to computational resources required for learning and practising the techniques of AI & ML. The programming exercises and their automatic evaluation will be integrated with this computation facility. d) Learning Recommendation: The system will periodically provide user with personalized recommendation of latest courses to take, resources made available for study based on the area of interest and expertise of the user. e) Chatbot based Interaction: There will be a chatbot based interface to interact with the platform.
